FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairfield University men's basketball team will finish up its 2017-18 regular season road schedule with a match up against Siena College at the Times Union Center, the same venue that will host the Stags and every other Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) program for next week's conference tournament which begins on Thursday, March 1. But before the MAAC Tournament festivities commence next week, the Stags must concentrate on their final two regular season games which also includes a home game against Monmouth University next Saturday at Webster Bank Arena.

The Stags won their second straight game with a 102-98 double-overtime victory over Quinnipiac last Saturday, the third time that the Stags have surpassed the 100-point mark at home this season. Fairfield also defeated Iona in overtime (103-100) and Niagara (104-85) earlier this season. Fairfield overcame a 12-point halftime deficit to earn the win, scoring 51 points in the second half to send the game into extra time. The game was not decided until the final minute of the second overtime as Jesus Cruz's steal led to a Tyler Nelson layup to put Fairfield ahead by three points, 101-98, with nine seconds left. After a pair of missed Quinnipiac free throws, Jonathan Kasibabu made one of two free throws to push the lead to two possessions with four seconds left.

Nelson finished with a team-high 32 points, while Kasibabu added a personal-best 22 points and tied his career high with 15 rebounds as a reserve. The Bobcats' Rich Kelly netted 40 points to pace the visitors. Nelson, who became the program's all-time leading scorer with a second-half basket, leads both the team as well as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) in scoring with 21.9 points per game. Kasibabu continues to see his rebounding average climb, checking in with a team-best 5.4 per game.

The Saints dropped a heart-breaking triple overtime game against Monmouth in their last outing, falling by a 93-89 count at the Times Union Center. The contest featured 18 lead changes and 18 ties before the Hawks took the lead for good with four free throws by Austin Tilghman in the final two seconds of the game.  Siena has dropped five of its last six games with the win coming at home overtime against Iona, 82-78. Evan Fisher scored 10 of his 21 points in the overtime period against Iona to pace the win, while Khalili Richard netted a game-high 22 points for the Saints.

Siena has played five overtime games this season and has won two of those dates. Richard has been among the team's top scorers recently with a 9.1 scoring average, slightly higher than Prince Oduro's 9.0 scoring average. Oduro  has been equally as successful on the boards, averaging a team-best 5.3 per game. He has been the team's leading rebounder in three of the last four games (at Canisius, at Rider, and Monmouth) with eight caroms in each of those contests.
