FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Justin Bell has been named Associate Director of Athletics for Compliance and Recruitment at Fairfield University, as announced today by Director of Athletics
Paul Schlickmann. Bell previously served in a similar capacity at the University of Hartford and Northeastern University.
In his role with the Stags, Bell will oversee NCAA Compliance and Student Services for Fairfield's 20 varsity sports. He will be the department liaison with the office of Admissions, Financial Aid, Residence Life, Student Affairs/Student Conduct and International Students. Bell will also oversee the student-athlete Academic Center staff and operations as well as serve as the sport administrator for the men's and women's cross country programs.
"Justin brings a wealth of educational and professional experiences from several highly regarded institutions. His knowledge of, and passion for, his primary craft and the ancillary services critical to a substantive student services program will be an asset to our coaches and student-athletes as we continue to create an organizational structure that is modern in outlook and in function" said Schlickmann. "Justin is an ambitious and motivated professional, who will be a great addition to the Fairfield University community. We are excited to welcome him to the Stags family."
As Associate Athletic Director of Compliance at Hartford for the last two years, Bell was a member of the Hawks' senior leadership team. In addition to his compliance responsibilities, he was the program administrator of six of Hartford's athletics programs. Prior to coming to Connecticut, Bell was the Assistant Director of Compliance and Student-Athlete Welfare at Northeastern for four years.

Bell began his career in college athletics at Wake Forest University, where he served as a Compliance Assistant from 2010-12 while earning his
Juris Doctor. Bell previously earned a
Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
