FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairfield University men's basketball team will wrap up the calendar year by wrapping up the non-conference portion of the schedule on Saturday afternoon. The Stags will head to the University of New Hampshire for a 1 pm tip. The game will be broadcasted on

Fairfield has nine wins in the 11 meetings against New Hampshire including last year's 78-68 decision at Webster Bank Arena.
Tyler Nelson led all scorers with 31 points, while
Jonathan Kasibabu added 10 points for the Stags. Iba Camara secured a double-double for the Wildcats with 11 points and 13 rebounds. The series returns to New Hampshire for the first time in more than 20 years. These two teams last met in New Hampshire during the 1987-88 campaign which the Stags won by a 70-57 count.
The Stags made a solid run at their ACC opponent, coming within 71-67 with two minutes remaining, but fell to Boston College by a 77-67 count at Conte Forum. Fairfield received 21 points from freshman
Calvin Whipple, who accounted for all of those points from behind the three-point arc. The team is in the midst of a four-game skid that includes three road losses (Army West Point, Old Dominion, and Boston College).
Fairfield has lost its last two games by 10 points, a distinct difference from its previous six losses which sported a three-point margin (six games, 18 points).
Jonathan Kasibabu just missed his third straight double-double in the Boston College game, netting nine points and securing 10 rebounds after reaching double digits in points and rebounds against Old Dominion (13/15) and Oakland (17/12). Fairfield will play it eighth game away from campus on Saturday afternoon, playing six true road games and two neutral site contests that took place in Seattle. Both of the team's wins this year have come on a road trip, a neutral site decision over Denver and a road victory at Bucknell.
Landon Taliaferro leads the team in scoring with his 13.6 scoring average, just above freshman
Neftali Alvarez's 13.0 points per game. Kasibabu paces the Stags with his 7.1 rebounding average which places second in the MAAC.
The Wildcats come off a 58-49 loss to Marist College on Wednesday afternoon. Today, New Hampshire will play its third MAAC school of the season, all coming at home. The Wildcats dropped a 69-63 decision against Quinnipiac before falling to Marist.
New Hampshire made a strong run in the second half after falling behind by 21 points by halftime, 33-12. The team did not score for the final 11-plus minutes of the opening half but came within six points, 38-32, with 11 minutes left in the game. The Red Foxes regained its double-digit lead with a three-point field goal on the next possession and never led by less than seven points for the rest of the game. Jordan Reed led all New Hampshire scorers with 12 points while Mark Carbone added 11 markers.
The Wildcats have three double-digit scorers, namely Reed (11.1 ppg), Jayden Martinez (10.1 ppg), and Josh Hopkins (10.0 ppg). Martinez is also the team's top rebounder by grabbing 6.5 caroms per contest.
