FAIRFIELD, Conn. – For the first time this season, Fairfield University Field Hockey will play on University Field. The Stags will welcome CAA opponent Hofstra University Friday afternoon with face-off scheduled for 1 p.m. The match will be streamed live on the
Stags Sports Network.
Last Time Out: The team looks to bounce back from last weekend's road trip to Virginia after dropping their first two games against #10 Virginia, 11-1, and William & Mary, 3-1. The two goals of the weekend for the Stags came from junior
Sam Giordano in the first contest against nationally ranked Virginia and freshman
Meghann Maguire against William & Mary. Freshman goalkeeper
Zoe Rosen also made her collegiate debut totaling 24 saves in her 102 minutes of play throughout the two games.
The Series: The Stags have had a tough time historically against the Pride with a record of 5-26 since 1983. Fairfield lost their most recent meeting, 6-5, when they played in Hempstead, N.Y. last season.
Stags in Home Openers: Fairfield is 12-5 in their first home game of the season since 2000. They look to build upon that record against Hofstra in front of their home fans.
