Biography

2020-21 Season: Meghann Maguire returned to the lineup after missing most of the 2019 season and appeared in six of the team’s seven games. She came off the bench in her first three games but joined the starting lineup against Rider, Bryant, and Sacred Heart. Maguire registered three points during the campaign, all of which came against Bryant University. She collected an assist on the team’s first goal and netted the team’s final score of a 3-0 victory. Maguire took five shots during the season and put three on goal for a .600 shot percentage.

2019 Season: Maguire played in two games in early September but missed the remainder of the season due to injury. She did not score any points during her appearances. 

2018 Season: Maguire contributed three goals and one assists for seven points in her 21 appearances during 2018 which included 18 starts. She posted her first goal of the season on August 26 when she converted a shot against Villanova. Her next goal was a game winner when she netted the first goal of a 2-0 shutout against Temple. She followed up with a goal in her next game, coming off the bench in a 4-1 win against Holy Cross. Her final point of the season was an assist as the Stags edged Sacred Heart by a 4-2 count. Maguire owned a .600 shots-on-goal percentage with 12 of her attempts forcing a save or hitting the back of the net.

2017: Played in 19 games. Scored one and had two points. Goal came against William and Mary. Registered two shots on goal.

Before Fairfield: While she was a midfielder at North Kingstown High School, Meghann Maguire was an Honor Roll student and a member of the National Honor Society.  She was also the recipient of the Rhode Island Scholar Athlete Award in 2016.  Her high school team won the Division 1 State Championship in her junior year , earning the State Tournament MVP award for her efforts.  She was also named National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Third Team All-America, NFHCA All-Region, Max FH All-Region, and Rhode Island Division I Player of the Year as a senior.  Her success did not stop there as she also won the Four Goals Cup Championship with her club team in both 2015 and 2016 and was a USAFH Futures Level 1 Site participant from 2013 to 2017.  Maguire is double-majoring in marketing and finance in the Dolan School of Business.
