CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Two Fairfield University rowing crews competed at the Head of the Charles, taking to the water for the men's 4 and the women's 8 today.
The men's shell finished in the top half of its class which qualifies Fairfield for the same event at next year's Head of the Charles.

Matt Marshall comprised the Stags 4 which finished its run in 17:51.5, placing the Stags 23rd out of 52 entries. Riverside won the event with a time of 16:22.8, followed by Dartmouth (16:32.7) and Boston University (16:37.8).
The women's crew placed 32nd in the club 8 event by finishing the course in 18:44.2 behind the efforts of Ani Dennen, Tina Chalastra, Shelley Wilson,
Allison Sloan,
Morgan Connell, Sam Altomare,
Chloe Boughrum,
Bethany Gove, and coxswain Katie Clark. Radcliffe won the club 8 by crossing the line in 16:27.0, followed by Yale (16:40.3) and Penn (16:43.9).
The men's rowing team will compete at the Head of the Fish next week while the women's team will compete against Sacred Heart University in a dual meet.
