FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Swimming and Diving team bested Siena College 142-95 on Monday afternoon.

For the second meet in a row a freshman Fairfield swimmer broke a school record. This time it was Colleen Young in the 200m breaststroke as she clocked in at 2:43.25 to beat Lauren Kennedy's record of 2:43.84 that was set in November of 2009.

Young also grabbed a first place finish in the 200m IM with a personal best 2:30.48. Kelly Cordes won both the 800 and 400 freestyle events with personal bests. In the 800 she finished in 9:36.95 and the 400 touched the wall in 4:39.65. Emily Holman, Grace Goddard, and Kristin Kunnapas all earned first place finishes for the Stags over the Saints. Holman placed first in the 50m freestyle with a personal best time of 28.86, Goddard in the 200m butterfly finished in 2:28.98, and Kunnapas in the 100m freestyle clocked in at 1:02.46.

The divers were led by Jane Rice who scored a 219.98 in the 1-meter and 225.38 in the 3-meter. For Kylie More, she scored a 202.65 in the 1-meter and a 163.13 in the 3-meter. And Leah Pawelczyk scored 187.50 in the 1-meter and 196.50 in the 3-meter.

The women are back in the pool on Friday when they host Iona College at 5 p.m.
