FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Over 130 alumni, parents and friends accepted the challenge and contributed over $30,000 on the first ever STAGiving Day Athletics Challenge. Fairfield Athletics also received an anonymous gift of $200,000 that will benefit varsity sports at the University. The Challenge was an online-based fundraising campaign that encouraged alumni, family and friends of athletics to support Fairfield University's varsity and club sport teams.
Top winners from the event include Field Hockey with the highest participation rate along with Women's Lacrosse who took home the title for the highest amount raised. A full list of winners from the challenge in April includes:

Gifts from the StaGiving Day Athletics Challenge will supplement each team's operating budget, providing funding to enhance equipment needs, meal plans, training, recruiting and more.
