BALTIMORE – The Fairfield University men's lacrosse team has been named No. 17 in the Inside Lacrosse Face-Off Yearbook, as published online today at insidelacrosse.com. The Stags' 2017 campaign – their 25th varsity season – is set to begin on Saturday, Feb. 11 at Richmond.

Fairfield's No. 17 ranking positions them as one of two CAA clubs on the ledger. Defending CAA champion Towson earned a No. 11 ranking after reaching the NCAA Championship Quarterfinals last spring. The Tigers are one of five ranked teams on the Stags' 2017 schedule. Fairfield will also challenge No. 6 Yale, No. 15 Richmond, No. 16 Penn State, and No. 19 Rutgers.

Fairfield is coming off of a 9-8 season – its fifth straight winning campaign – that culminated with the team's first-ever trip to the CAA Championship Game. The Stags, who return 30 student-athletes from last spring's club – are one of five teams in the nation to have won three consecutive conference regular season titles.
