FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University men's and women's cross country teams will head to Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain this Friday to compete in the CCSU Mini-Meet. The Stags' final tune-up before the 2016 MAAC Championship begins with a 3K women's race at 3 p.m. with a 5K men's race to follow at 4 p.m.
The shorter race around Stanley Quarter Park will see the Stags return to action after a two-week hiatus from competition. Last fall, the women placed seven of 17 teams, guided by Katheen Woods '16 and Jacqueline-Ann Willsey. The men's squad, paced by Sam Daly and Scott Daly, slotted 11th of 15 competing squads.
The 2016 MAAC Championship will be held at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando on Saturday, Oct. 29. The 8 a.m. men's race and 9 a.m. women's race will both be broadcast live on ESPN3.
