FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Department of Athletics and Media Center have announced that five home basketball games – four men's games and one women's contest – will be broadcast to nationwide and international audiences this season on SportsNet New York (SNY) and ESPN3. The Fairfield Media Center is in its ninth season producing live broadcasts of Stags' basketball.
“Fairfield University has alumni and fans throughout the country and around the world, and it is our goal to make Fairfield basketball available to them on a regular basis through our partnerships with ESPN3 and SNY,” said Director of Athletics Gene Doris. “We are also very proud of the fact that these broadcasts are produced by our own students and staff at the Fairfield University Media Center.”
Scheduled broadcasts for this season include five Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference games: men's basketball vs. Monmouth (Jan. 11), women's basketball vs. Canisius (Jan. 24), men's basketball vs. Iona (Jan. 24), men's basketball vs. Quinnipiac (Feb. 1) and men's basketball vs. Marist (Feb. 15).
In addition, the men's basketball game at Webster Bank Arena against Canisius on Jan. 29 has been designated by the MAAC as a “wild card game” that will appear on either ESPNU or ESPN3 as a part of the conference's broadcast package.
All of Fairfield's home contests for both men's and women's basketball that are not a part of this package – including Saturday's doubleheader against crosstown rival Sacred Heart – are slated to be broadcast live on FairfieldStags.TV.
