Women's Swim and Dive Top Holy Cross

FAIRFIELD, Conn.—The Fairfield University Swimming and Diving teams competed at Holy Cross on Saturday. The women came out with a 189-111 victory while the men were narrowly edged 155-144.

The women's team posted 11 eleven individual victories on the day as seven different Stags claimed first place finishes.

Kelly Mulligan led the way as she posted the fastest times in the 100y (1:02.30) and 200y (2:12.87) backstroke and the 200 IM (2:15.79). Kelly Cordes saw two victories on the day as she won the 100y and 200y freestyle with times of 56.58 and 2:01.39.

Maggie O'Donnell claimed the top spot in the 1000y freestyle with a time of 11:35.50. Donna Lam placed first in the 100y butterfly with a time of 1:02.05. Emily Vlass won the 100y (1:12.86) and 200y (2:35.83) breaststroke events. Grace Goddard finished the 200y butterfly in a time of 2:14.51 to place first in the event. Michelle Pleban had the top time in the 50y freestyle, 26.02.

The Stags also claimed victories in both the 400 medley and 400 freestyle relay events.

For the divers, Jane Rice placed second in both diving events, scoring 206.17 in the 1-meter and 229.72 in the 3-meter.

As for the men, they posted eight individual victories against Holy Cross.

Connor Daly claimed the top spot in the 200y butterfly (1:54.01), 200y breaststroke (2:14.29), and 200 IM (2:00.44).

Jameson Duncan finished first in the 1000y freestyle (10:22.41). Andrew Gormley had the fastest time in the 200y backstroke posting a 2:02.56. Justin Touve won the 500y freestyle posting a time of 4:51.05.

Daniel Pires claimed victories in both diving events. In the 1-meter dive he scored 289.80, and in the 3-meter scored 287.10.

Both teams will head to Marist on Friday night for a conference showdown at 6:00 pm.
