The #17/19 Fairfield University men's lacrosse team renews an in-state rivalry with #20 Yale University at Reese Stadium in New Haven, Conn. on Saturday. The Stags are 3-2 on the year, while the Bulldogs are 2-1.

Saturday's game with Yale is the Stags second of the year versus another NEILA member.  The Stags rank second in the NEILA Coaches Poll for the third straight week, one spot ahead of the Bulldogs.

Fairfield and Yale are meeting for the first time since 2009, when the Bulldogs earned an 18-11 victory at Reese Stadium. The Stags are 0-6 all-time against Yale in the series, which began in 1996 with a 13-12 Yale win in Florida.  The series continued in 2004, for three consecutive years, and the teams met again in 2008 and 2009. This is just the second meeting at Yale, with the 2004 and 2--8 meetings at Fairfield and the other three meetings in Florida.

Through five games the Stags are dead even with opponents, with 43 goals.  The Stags scored a season-high 14 against UMBC, four days after a season-low two against Hofstra.  North Carolina is the only team that has reached double-figures this season, netting 10 goals.

Fairfield committed a season-low equaling 13 turnovers in the win over UMBC.  The Stags are averaging just 13.7 turnovers a game in their three wins, and are 3-0 when committing 15 or fewer turnovers.  In its two losses the Stags have averaged 18.5 turnovers a game, with a season-high 21 in the loss at Carolina. The Stags had 13 miscues in the win over Navy and 15 in the season-opening win at Bryant. For the season the Stags are -6 in turnovers, with 78, while opponents have 72 turnovers.

Jack Murphy made a season-high 17 stops in the Stags win over UMBC and is now ninth in the nation at 13.8 saves per game.  He entered the week ranked sixth in the nation in save percentage, at nearly 62 percent, and has stopped 69 shots against 43 goals allowed.  Murphy also continues to lead the team in ground balls, with 26, including a season-high eight at North Carolina.

Sam Snow had his third hat trick of the season in the win over UMBC, including his first man-up tally of the campaign.  He has at least one point in every game this year and is second on the team with 13 total.  Snow has struck for 10 goals, with the game winner against Navy, as he scored four times in the fourth quarter. He has also picked up seven ground balls this spring and caused one turnover.

Jordan Greenfield tallied a career-high six points in the Stags win over UMBC, including a career-high equaling four goals.  It marked his second four goal effort of the year, as he opened the year with four tallies in the win at Bryant.  Greenfield leads the team in goals, 12, and points, 16.

Yale has won back-to-back games and is 2-1 on the year.  Leading the offense, which is averaging 12.7 goals per game, is the 10 goals of Brandon Mangan and Conrad Oberbeck.  Mangan has also handed out a team-high six assists and leads the team with 16 points.  Dylan Levings has taken all but two face-offs on the year, going 39-70 and has a team-best 24 ground balls.  Yale has a 94-63 ground ball advantage this season.
