FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairfield University men's basketball team will host the Siena College Saints in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) basketball game which will be televised live on ESPN3 beginning at 8:30 pm. Fairfield is playing its third straight home game with two more to follow for a season-long five-game home stand. Fairfield holds a 15-11 overall record and a 7-7 MAAC mark.

The Stags come off a 62-40 loss to Manhattan in their last outing, a result which ended the Stags five-game winning streak. Amadou Sidibe highlighted the game for Fairfield, collecting a season-high 13 rebounds along with six points. Maurice Barrow was the team's top scorer with nine points.

Derek Needham dished off four assists and scored five points against the Jaspers, but remains the team's top scorer with a 14.2 scoring average. His four assists raised his career total to 516 assists, needing seven more to move into fourth place all-time at Fairfield. A.J. Wynder currently stands fourth with 522 assists. Jonathan Han holds the number three slot with 526 assists, just 11 ahead of Needham's current career total.

Another senior, Colin Nickerson has also found his stride by improving his overall shooting percentage. The guard has netted 15 of 29 shots over the last six games (.517) which includes one game during that stretch in which he did not attempt a shot (at Saint Peter's). Nickerson is at 50 percent for the season, making 60 of 120 field goal attempts, joining Amadou Sidibe as the team's only 50 percent shooters. The team owns a 9-5 record when he shoots 50 percent or higher.

The Saints enter tonight's game with a 6-19 overall record and a 4-10 MAAC slate after dropping three straight in a seven-day stretch. Before that run, Siena won four of seven games, including wins over Canisius and Manhattan. The Saints will return to Albany for three straight games, including a BracketBuster match up with Radford, before finishing on the road against Iona.

O.D. Anosike continues to enjoy an outstanding season which sees him averaging a double-double. The senior registers 13.2 points and 11.9 rebounds per game, the only student-athlete in the MAAC who is averaging a double-double this season. The Saints have two solid three-point shooters in Rob Poole and Evan Hymes. Hymes leads the team with 24 baskets from behind the arc with Poole a close second with 21 three pointers. Poole is averaging 12.6 points per game, while Rakeem Brookins closes out the top three with 11.6 points every contest.

This game is part of a doubleheader which features the Fairfield University women's basketball team hosting Canisius College at 6 pm. The women's game will also be featured on ESPN3.
