FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The men's basketball will continue its five-game home stand on Monday night when it hosts Manhattan College at Webster Bank Arena. Game time is slated for 7 pm. This game is the second of five consecutive home games which started with a 61-44 win over Saint Peter's last Thursday.

Tonight's game features the top two defenses in the MAAC with Fairfield holding the top spot (60.2 ppg) and Manhattan placing second (62.2 ppg) in the overall statistics. The two teams are also ranked first and second in MAAC games as well with Fairfield allowing 58.6 points per game and Manhattan yielding 59.2 points every forty minutes. Fairfield has not allowed 60 points in any of its last five games.

The contest also includes two of the best shooters in the MAAC this year. Amadou Sidibe enters tonight's game with a .571 field goal percentage, but his 64 field goals do not meet the MAAC minimum to qualify for the conference leader statistics. Manhattan's Rhamel Brown leads the MAAC in field goal percentage with a .575 mark, making 111 of 193 field goal attempts.

The Jaspers improved to 8-15 overall and 6-7 in the MAAC following its 67-54 win over Canisius in Riverdale. Donovan Kates paced the Jaspers with a team-high 14 points. Rhamel Brown and RaShawn Stores contributed to the win with 13 points each. The Jaspers led by as many as 27 points with 12 minutes remaining, mainly by using the three-point shot. Manhattan shot 54 percent from behind the arc with Michael Alvarado (2 for 2) and RaShawn Stores (3 for 3) combining for a perfect 5 for 5 from three-point range. Alvarado ranks second on the team with an 8.8 scoring average, trailing only Rhamel Brown at 12.0 points per contest. Shane Richards is the team's top three-point shooter, netting 45 in 23 games.

Derek Needham remains the team's top scorer, averaging just over 14 points per game. He is among the conference leaders for three pointers per game (2.1 pg) and free throw percentage (.771). Maurice Barrow is next in line with his 9.5 scoring average, ranking among the conference leaders with his .489 field goal percentage.
