FAIRFIELD, Conn.-- The Fairfield University men's basketball team returns to the road for a Sunday afternoon game against Rider University in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) contest. Tip-off is slated for 2 pm. Both teams opened their MAAC campaign on Friday night.

The Stags came up short against Canisius College by a 67-55 margin as Derek Needham led all scorers with 11 points. For the season, the class has combined for just over 19 points per game.

The Broncs opened the MAAC season with a 62-56 road win against Siena College. Anthony Myles led Rider with 20 points, one of three Broncs in double figures. Jonathon Thompson (12 points) and Nurideen Lindsey (11 points) also reached double figures in the game.
