Number six on the Fairfield Athletics “12 for '12” countdown comes from the men's lacrosse program.  Arguably the greatest overall season in program history culminated Memorial Day weekend as Brent Adams and Charlie Cipriano became the first teammates to earn USILA All-America recognition in the same season.

Adams became the first Stag lacrosse player to be named to an All-America Team, with Third Team accolades, following a season that saw him tally 38 points and earn both First-Team All-ECAC and First-Team All-NEILA honors.  Cipriano was an All-America Honorable Mention, making him the third player to receive the honor and marking the fifth such award for Fairfield. (C.J. Kemp – 2002, and Greg Downing – 2005, '06, '07).

“It is a tremendous honor for Brent and Charlie to earn All-America status,” said Stags head coach Andy Copelan.  “Both young men were integral to the ascent of Fairfield lacrosse and to the record setting season we had in 2012.  Brent and Charlie are humble and both understand that individual accolades are a byproduct of a team's success.  Having multiple All Americans is a clear testament to the many contributions made by all members of the 2012 team.”

The program also reached new heights in 2012, posting a program-record 12 victories and reaching the school's highest national ranking (13th) during the regular season. Fairfield finished the year ranked 17th in the nation, its highest season-ending ranking in history, after playing in the ECAC Lacrosse League Championship Game for the second consecutive year.

Adams and Cipriano were featured in a Stags Country episode in 2012.
