FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairfield University men's basketball team will make the trip to the City of Brotherly Love for a Saturday afternoon match up with Saint Joseph's University. The Stags and the Hawks will tip-off at 2 pm.

Fairfield has won its last three games, including last Sunday's 69-58 decision over Drexel University. In fact, all three of Fairfield's victories have been by double figures with the average margin of victory standing at 13.3 points per win. Saturday's game marks the second straight game against a Philadelphia-based school, and the third of the season. The Stags defeated Penn earlier in the year by a 62-53 margin as part of the Preseason NIT Tip-Off.

Derek Needham remains the team's top scorer with a 14.4 scoring average, the only Stag scoring in double figures for the season. The senior was placed on the Bob Cousy Award watch list, an honor which goes to the top point guard in the country. Needham set the school record for career three-point field goals in the Drexel game, hitting h is 231st long-range jumper.

Maurice Barrow is next in line among the team's scoring leaders, netting 8.1 points per game. He is also ranked among the MAAC's top shot blockers, averaging 0.8 rejections per contest. Amadou Sidibe ranks first on the squad with a 5.7 rebounding average, more than a rebound per game better than runner-up Keith Matthews' 4.3 rebounds per game.

The Hawks come off a 65-61 loss to Villanova on the road, the team's third straight away game. Saint Joseph's opened the season with three home games and two neutral site contests, winning all three on campus and splitting the neutral games. Carl Jones leads the team in scoring with a 15.5 scoring average, one of three Hawks in double figures. Langston Galloway is next in line with 14.1 points per game followed by C.J. Aiken's 10.5 scoring average. Jones and Langston are tied for the top spot in three-point shooting, both netting 18 shots from behind the arc. Saint Joseph's has played one other Connecticut school this year, defeating Yale by a 61-35 count in the season opener.

This game begins a five-game road trip that continues on December 29 at Old Dominion University. Fairfield returns to MAAC play after that game, heading to upstate New York for games against Canisius (January 3) and Niagara (January 5). The road swing ends on January 11 with a trip to Baltimore for a game with Loyola University. Fairfield returns home on January 13 when it hosts Niagara University at Webster Bank Arena.
