Fairfield To Host Blood Drive As Part Of MAAC Chal

Fairfield University is taking part in the First American Red Cross MAAC Blood Drive Challenge, hosting a blood drive in the Oak Room of the Barone Campus Center on Monday, September 26.  The drive will take place from 9 am through 6:45 pm and appointments can be made through www.redcrossblood.org and by using the sponsor code 'stag.'

“This is an excellent opportunity for Fairfield fans to show their Stag pride while benefitting a wonderful cause,” said Fairfield Associate Director of Athletics Alison Sexton. “There are blood shortages throughout Connecticut and the nation, and every pint that we can provide will benefit someone in their time of need.  I strongly encourage anyone who is able to sign-up and come to campus on Monday to make a donation.”

Everyone who comes to give blood on Monday will receive a coupon for a $12.99 oil change and free tire rotation, redeemable at any Monro Muffler/Brake location.

The Stags will be competing with Iona, Manhattan, Marist, Rider, Saint Peter's and Siena to collect the most total units in a one-day blood drive.  The winner will be honored with an on-campus trophy presentation by MAAC Commissioner Rich Ensor.

Monday's blood drive is sponsored by the American Red Cross, MAAC, University Activities, Athletics, and Stags in the Stands.
