FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- After a tropical storm forced the cancellation of last weekend's games, Head Coach Carl Rees and the Fairfield University men's soccer team are ready to get back on the pitch this weekend. The Stags head to Northeastern University for a Saturday evening game at Parsons Field. Game time is slated for 6 pm. The game will be streamed live free of charge through the Northeastern athletics web site.

Fairfield enters this weekend's game with an 0-2 record, dropping a pair of one-goal decisions against nationally-ranked Boston College and regionally-ranked Columbia University. And the schedule does not get an easier this weekend as Northeastern enters this week's action with a 3-1-1 overall record, including a win over Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a tie against Wright State last week.

The Huskies are led by Dante Marini who leads the team with seven points, registering two goals and three assists in five games. He has one game-winning goal to his credit, netting the deciding goal against Marist in the Huskies' home opener. Ricardo McDonald is next in line with a goal and two assists for two points Oliver Blum has spent most of the minutes in the Northeastern goal this year, posting an impressive 0.70 goals against average with a .769 save percentage (10 saves).

Fairfield has not been on the field since its home opener against Columbia University on September 2. The Stags did not play in the Mayor's Cup Tournament hosted by Hartwick College last weekend, as heavy rain and flooding forced the cancellation of the two-game event. Despite the layoff, Fairfield has continued to train and prepare for Saturday night's game, as well as a pair of road games next week against Stony Brook University (September 20) and Yale University (September 23).
