Volleyball Hosts Final Home Match On Wednesday

Fairfield, which has won 12 of its last 14, will play its final home match of the season on Wednesday before heading on the road for two matches. The Stags host Marist at 7pm on November 2 in Alumni Hall before heading to Manhattan on Saturday and Saint Peter's on Sunday.

Fairfield (15-9; 12-2 MAAC) vs. Marist (11-12; 8-5 MAAC): The Stags and the Red Foxes last met on September 23 when Fairfield upended them 3-2 (20-25, 25-17, 25-19, 21-25, 15-13) in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Freshman Camille Coffey posted a match-high 19 kills while six other Stags were in double figures. In addition to her kills, Coffey finished with nine digs and four total blocks. Freshman Caitlin Stapleton added 13 kills and six total blocks while junior Brianna Dixion and senior Kendal Dirkin each notched 10 kills. Setter Rachel Romansky recorded 54 assists, five digs, and three kills. Sophomore Hayley Moyer was strong in the middle for the Stags, registering a career-best seven total blocks along with four kills. Junior Kara Reis had 18 digs while freshman Carsen Mata posted 11 digs to help the Stags defense. Fairfield is 26-5 all-time against Marist.

Fairfield vs. Manhattan (14-12; 7-6 MAAC): Junior Brianna Dixion posted a match-high 12 kills on .343 hitting in the Stags' 3-0 victory over the Jaspers on October 8 at Alumni Hall. Senior Kendal Dirkin converted 11 of her 17 attempts for kills to finish with an errorless .647 attack percentage. Freshman Caitlin Stapleton notched nine kills and three total blocks. Senior Haililani Pokipala posted 16 digs along with five kills while classmate Lauren Balmert had 10 digs and two aces. The Stags have taken 15 of the last 16 meetings with the Jaspers and stand 36-6 all-time against them.

Fairfield vs. Saint Peter's (0-26; 0-13 MAAC): Saint Peter's fell to Fairfield 3-0 on October 9 in Alumni Hall. The Stags presented a well-balanced attack, hitting .308 for the match with 53 kills. Junior Brianna Dixion, freshman Camille Coffey, and freshman Caitlin Stapleton each recorded nine kills. Coffey added seven digs while Stapleton forged a .429 attack percentage and posted two total blocks. Freshman Lindsay Weaver and senior Kendal Dirkin each tallied eight kills while hitting .417 and .467, respectively. Setter Rachel Romansky had five kills, tying a season-high, and a .400 attack percentage to go along with 41 assists and six digs. Fairfield has taken 13 of the last 14 meetings with Saint Peter's for an all-time record of 31-10.

MAAC Rookie of the Week – 10/31: Freshman Caitlin Stapleton was named the MAAC Rookie of the Week for the second time in three weeks. Stapleton averaged 3.00 kills on .351 hitting to help the Stags to back-to-back shutouts. In the Stags' 3-0 win at Loyola University Maryland on October 29, Stapleton tallied nine kills and a block. In the 3-0 victory at Rider University on October 30, she posted nine kills on .474 hitting with two total blocks. She also received MAAC Rookie of the Week honors on October 17.
 
Career Milestone Watch — 1,000 Digs: Senior Haililani Pokipala is just 13 digs away from reaching the 1,000-career dig milestone. Pokipala, who has 987 for her career, recorded her 900th career dig against Rider on October 2.  She will be the second Stag this season to reach the milestone as libero Kara Reis tallied her 1,000th at the beginning of the month.
