Men's Soccer Remains Unbeaten In MAAC Play With 1-

Box Score
LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. -- The Fairfield University men's soccer team remained unbeaten in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play with a 1-0 win at Siena College this afternoon. The Stags improved their overall record to 5-4-1 and their MAAC mark to 4-0-1. The team's unbeaten streak hit six games with the win, giving it a 5-0-1 slate during the current run.

The Stags survived a lengthy lightening delay this afternoon which halted the game in the 62nd minute. Before the stoppage, Fairfield and Siena were in a 0-0 tie with the Saints holding a slight advantage in shots at 7-5. Not long after play resumed, the Stags put together the game's only goal in the 66th minute. Jack Burridge, who tallied two goals and an assist last week, set up the game winner with a cross into the box which Adam Cowen collected and put into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead. The goal was the junior defender's first points of the season.

Goalkeeper Michael O'Keeffe made the lead hold up with strong play in the Fairfield goal. The junior finished the game with three saves and posted his second shutout of the season. Siena goalkeeper Jack Binks made one save in 90 minutes of work.

The Stags will return to action on Sunday, October 16 when they head to Marist College for a 1 pm game.
