Rigby Selected To Play In IWLCA North-South All-St

Fairfield University alumnus Erin Rigby (Fair Haven, N.J.) has been selected to the roster of the North squad for the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) North-South All-Star Game. The event, which features the top-40 seniors from across the NCAA Division I ranks, will be played on June 12 at the United Sports Training Center in Downington, Pa.
“It is a great honor for Erin to be recognized as one of the top seniors in the nation and to be selected to play in this prestigious event,” said Stags second year head coach Mike Waldvogel. “She enjoyed a spectacular career and was off to an All-America type season when she was hurt early in the year. Erin showed great strength and determination in returning from that injury and playing in the conference tournament. I am extremely happy that Erin will have this opportunity to cap off a wonderful collegiate career.”
Rigby, who graduated with a degree in marketing last month, played in 10 games during her senior season and finished fifth on the team with 32 points. She scored 22 of her 26 goals in the first five games of the year, suffering an ankle injury early in the game versus Lehigh. She returned for the final two games of the regular season, and then touched net four times, with two assists in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship – earning All-Tournament Team honors.
Rigby finished her career with 190 total points, second in program history. Her 137 goals are third in school history while her 53 assists is tied for third all-time. She appeared in 65 games over the course of her four seasons with the Stags, earning All-MAAC Second Team honors as a junior, and graduated among the top-five in goals, assists and points per game.
Fairfield finished the season at 13-5, capturing its third consecutive MAAC Regular Season crown, and has now won 18 consecutive conference regular season games, the second longest streak in league and school history.
