The Backpack Program began two years ago, benefitting approximately 100 Bridgeport elementary age students. Today, the program has expanded to nearly 400 students in Bridgeport, as well as 24 students in Norwalk. The program runs throughout the academic calendar and provides insecure elementary school students with discreetly-distributed food to take home for the weekend.
