Volleyball Heads To Manhattan, Hosts Loyola This W

The volleyball team will travel to Manhattan on Saturday before returning home on Sunday to host their final match in Alumni Hall this season. Fairfield will square off with Loyola at 2pm on November 7 in a Senior Day match-up. Prior to the match, the Stags will honor Alex Lopez, Lauren Hughes, and Hannah Segebart.

Sunday's Promotions: It's Archie Moore's Wings Day at Alumni Hall and fans will be treated to free chicken wings before Sunday's match. Fans will also have an opportunity to win great prizes by competing in a volleyball passing contest. Also, in a Stag Cup Showdown, Jogues will be taking on the Townhouses.

Fairfield (10-16; 9-5 MAAC) vs. Manhattan (14-13; 7-7 MAAC): The two teams last met on September 25 as the Stags opened play at Alumni Hall with a 3-2 (21-25, 25-13, 13-25, 25-19, 15-12) come-from-behind victory. Junior Haililani Pokipala paced Fairfield with a double-double while classmate Kendal Dirkin tallied a career high 13 kills. Pokipala posted her third double-double of the year with 11 kills and 21 digs. Dirkin hit .429 for the match with just one error in 29 chances. Freshman Hayley Moyer posted 12 kills on .550 hitting along with three blocks. Freshman Rachel Romansky tallied 44 assists, nine digs, and four kills while senior Lauren Hughes had eight kills, seven digs, and three total blocks. The Stags have taken 11-straight from Manhattan and are 35-5 all-time against the Jaspers.

Fairfield vs. Loyola (13-15; 7-7 MAAC): The Stags opened up MAAC play back on September 18 by shutting down Loyola 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-21). Senior Lauren Hughes had a match-high 14 kills hitting .464 for the match with just one attack error. Junior Haililani Pokipala added eight kills and 10 digs while freshman Hayley Moyer tallied seven kills on .500 hitting. Fairfield has taken 13-straight from Loyola and is 23-6 all-time against the Greyhounds.
