The Fairfield University women's basketball team hosts the University of Rhode Island on Monday night at Alumni Hall.  The final game of a four-game homestand, the contest is set to tip-off at 7 p.m.

Fairfield is 3-0 on the season, averaging a 16.7 point margin of victory.  Katelyn Linney continued her hot play against Cornell, scoring 23 points.  She is leading the league in scoring, 20.3 points, field goal percentage, 65.6 percent, and three-point field goal percentage, 70 percent.  Taryn Johnson had the Stags first double-double of the season on Monday, scoring 11 points and hauling in 10 rebounds.

Linney made her collegiate debut against Rhode Island last season, scoring a team-best 18 points to pace the Stags to a 73-48 victory.  The effort earned Linney her first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Rookie of the Week award. Fairfield's victory in Kingston last year gave the Stags a 3-2 all-time lead in the series, and snapped a two-game series losing streak.

The Stags are 3-0 for the second consecutive season and for the third time in Joe Frager's four seasons.  Fairfield has only once before opened a year with four consecutive home games, 1983-84 when it won all four of those contests.  The Stags defeated Northeastern, Brown, Boston College and Connecticut that season, on its way to winning the first seven games of the year - the Stags best start at the Division I level.

Fans can purchase tickets to the game at Alumni Hall beginning at 6 p.m. Monday evening.  Those interested in purchasing tickets in advance, or season tickets, should contact Fairfield ticket manager Helen Smaldone (203-254-4136).
