FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Fairfield University field hockey team started its month of fundraising for the battle against breast cancer by hosting the Fairfield Country Play 4 Pink field hockey jamboree on Sunday. The event raised nearly $2,000 as more than 200 people attended the jamboree which included two youth games and the Fairfield University-Saint Joseph's University match up.
The Stags will continue the fundraiser throughout the month by collecting pledges for each goal they score during the month. And, supporters can also pledge an amount for each save made by the goalkeepers in October. The money raised will go to the Susan G Komen Foundation, Stamford Hospital's Mobile Mammogram Program, and Norwalk Hospital's Mammogram Program for Uninsured Women.
You can make a pledge by filling out the
pledge form and returning it via email (
kzappone@fairfield.edu) or by mailing it to the Fairfield University field hockey office.
