Volleyball Hosts Marist, Heads To Iona This Weeken

Fairfield, winners of four of the last five, will look to remain perfect in the MAAC against Marist and Iona this weekend. The Stags host Marist in Alumni Hall on Saturday at 2pm and then travel to Iona on Sunday.

Home Sweet Home: Fairfield has won its last 11 home matches dating back to last season when the Stags went 10-1. Fairfield is 41-3 in Alumni Hall over the course of the last four regular seasons.
 
Fairfield (5-10; 4-0 MAAC) vs. Marist (7-9; 2-2 MAAC): The Stags will meet the Red Foxes for the first time since the 2009 MAAC Championship semifinals, where Marist upset top-seeded Fairfield. Prior to the loss, the Stags had taken 10-straight meetings from the Red Foxes. Despite the loss, Fairfield is 24-4 all-time against Marist. Last season, Brianna Dixion averaged 3.08 kills and 2.15 digs against the Red Foxes.
 
Fairfield vs. Iona (9-5; 3-1 MAAC): Fairfield has taken 10 of the last 11 meetings with Iona. In the Stags' final home match of 2009, libero Kara Reis and Haililani Pokipala had career days against the Gaels. Reis notched 31 digs for the third-highest single-match total in program history. Pokipala, meanwhile, registered a career-high 15 kills and a .400 attack percentage. The Stags are 31-9 all-time against the Gaels.
