Sarah Ratchford joined Fairfield's External Relations team in the summer of 2017 and was named Assistant Director of Athletics for Marketing & Fan Experience in October of 2019. Ratchford will spearhead all marketing and fan experience elements for the Stags. This includes marketing plans focused on revenue generation and fan engagement for men's and women's soccer, men's and women's basketball and men's and women's lacrosse. She will oversee all game presentation elements, community relations efforts and work collaboratively with units throughout the Fairfield campus to drive engagement and school spirit.
Before Fairfield, Ratchford most recently worked at Loyola Marymount University, where she served as an external relations graduate assistant in the athletic department from 2015-17. She spearheaded the marketing efforts for the Lions’ women’s basketball program and was integral in the planning and execution of in-game promotions for basketball, baseball, soccer and volleyball. Ratchford also managed the LMU Athletics Kids Club and appearances by the Lions’ mascot.
Ratchford previously gained experience in collegiate athletics at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) and as an undergraduate intern at James Madison University. She earned a bachelor’s degree in sport and recreation management from James Madison in 2011 and received a master’s degree in educational studies from Loyola Marymount in June of 2017.
