Ivey Speight is in his 10th season in the external relations team at Fairfield and was promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics for Communications & Video in the summer of 2023. In his role, Speight will be responsible for all video production (features, highlights, etc.) and broadcasts on the Stags Sports Network. In addition, he will be the primary communications contact for women’s soccer, women’s basketball, and baseball.

Through his time at Fairfield, Speight has produced various video features that has highlighted Fairfield and it's student-athletes. These features have been spread through the Fairfield athletic social media channels, reaching over 300,000 people in the last two years. Some of the features has been shared through the NCAA social media channels, including a student-athlete profile that reached over 30,000 people on the NCAA Volleyball Facebook page.

He has also helped in the construction of the Stags Sports Network, that has broadcasted over 100 home games over the last year.

As a sports information director, he handled all the media responsibility of Fairfield baseball's first MAAC Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2016. He has also helped spread human interest stories that have been featured on News 12 Connecticut, the New Haven Register, and several other local outlets.

Speight is well known to Fairfield Athletics and the University community. A 2012 graduate of Fairfield, Speight worked closely with the Athletics Department. Speight produced various segments for Fairfield's Emmy-nominated “Stags Country,” which aired on SNY, in addition to other projects. He was also involved with the student radio station, WVOF, where he created the first MAAC Tournament 12-hour radio show, consisting of interviews with every school's men's and women's basketball teams. For his efforts, he was presented with the ECAC Certificate of Appreciation from the Athletics Department, the Fairfield University Student Achievement Award, and the New Media: Film, Television, and Journalism Award upon graduation in 2012.

After Fairfield, Speight was an athletics communications intern and multimedia coordinator at Siena College. Most recently, he was a production assistant at NBC Sports where he created highlight packages for the network.
