One of the all-time greats in MAAC Tennis history, Ed Paige is in his 24th season as a part of Fairfield Tennis in 2024-25. Paige was the head coach of both the men's and women's teams from 2006-14 after five years an assistant; he retired as head coach and assumed his current role prior to the 2014-15 season.

During his time as head coach of the Stags, Paige won one MAAC Championship (2012) and Regular Season Championship (2009) leading the men's team, and racked up three MAAC Championship (2009, 2010, 2012) and four Regular Season Championships (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013) with the women. In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Paige has coached extensively at the youth level. He spent two years as the Director of Junior Tennis in the town of Fairfield, and was also an assistant coach for the boy's junior varsity tennis team at Greens Farms Academy in Westport, Conn.

Paige spent six years as an editor at World Tennis Magazine and was the editor of Tennis USA, the United States Tennis Association (USTA) official monthly newspaper. From there Paige worked at some of the top publishing companies in the country, including Paragon House, while teaching feature writing and copy editing at New York University. More recently, Paige spent two years as an editor at The Advocate, Stamford's daily newspaper followed by three years as managing editor of Westport Magazine before turning his attention to tennis full time.

Paige earned a bachelor's degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1974 and attended the Breadloaf School of English at Middlebury College in 1976 and 1977.
