Billy Dwan joined the coaching staff for Fairfield University Men’s Lacrosse in July of 2026 as a part of Head Coach John Odierna's first staff with the Stags. Dwan begins his coaching career following a standout career as a defenseman at Syracuse University.
Dwan was a three-time All-America honoree at Syracuse, where Fairfield Head Coach John Odierna served as his defensive coordinator. In four seasons with the Orange, Dwan racked up 58 caused turnovers and 110 ground balls. He is also Syracuse’s all-time leader in goals by a defensive player with 19.
Dwan played in three NCAA Tournaments at Syracuse, including back-to-back trips to Championship Weekend in 2025 and 2026. He was the 11th overall pick in the 2026 Premier Lacrosse League Draft by the Maryland Whipsnakes. Dwan has played in five games in his rookie campaign as a pro, picking up eight rebound balls with two caused turnovers as well as an assist.
Dwan graduated from Syracuse in May of 2026 with a degree in Communication and Rhetorical Studies.
