Alison Sexton is in her 21st year as a member of the Fairfield University Department of Athletics. She currently serves as a Senior Associate Athletics Director and the Senior Woman Administrator. In her role, Sexton is responsible for overseeing the welfare of more than 400 student-athletes - including sports medicine and academics - as well as financial oversight and other internal affairs of the Department of Athletics.

Sexton is also the primary administrator for five of Fairfield's varsity sports: softball, baseball, men's soccer, field hockey and volleyball. In addition, she is the department's liaison to the University's Human Resources office and represents Fairfield at MAAC and NCAA meetings. She has also been active on the national level, previously serving on the NCAA Management Council, Division I Recruiting Cabinet and the NCAA Division I Softball Committee.

Also active in MAAC governance, Sexton chairs the MAAC Softball Committee and serves on the Men's Basketball and Marketing and Television committees.

Sexton began her professional career as an intern at the NCAA National Office, in 1989-90 - the year the office moved from Mission, Kan. to Overland Park, Kan.  She came to the East Coast in 1991, when she was named the Senior Woman Administrator at Marist College, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., a post she held until 1997, when she came to Fairfield.

A native of Cambridge, Neb., Sexton attended Hastings (Neb.) College, where she was a member of the women's basketball team and graduated in 1986 with a B.A. in Physical Education/Coaching Certificate. Sexton earned an M.A. Sport Administration from Mankato (Minn.) State in 1996.

Sexton is a member of Women Leaders in College Sports (formerly the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators).
