Biography

Before Fairfield: Sophia Nagy played her freshman campaign at American University, where she played 32 sets over 16 matches for the perennial Patriot League contender. She totaled five kills on 21 swings to go along with five blocks and 11 digs. Nagy was primarily called upon in the serving game, landing 12 aces for the Eagles. A native of Budapest, Hungary, Nagy appeared in 38 matches of the Hungarian National Team before joining the Eagles. She was the MVP of the U18 European Championship Qualifiers and took the court in four Champions League matches representing her home country. Nagy also played on the nation's top-ranked U15 team and later for nationally ranked teams at both the U17 and U19 levels.
