Biography

2021 (Fall): MAAC All-Academic Team…Did not see game action due to injury.

2021 (Spring): Fairfield University MLK Vision Award Recipient… MAAC All-Academic Team…Did not see game action due to injury.

2019: Appeared in 17 sets over seven matches in her rookie campaign…Had five kills on five swings in the Oct. 13 win at Rider…Totaled 12 blocks, including four in the Sept. 13 win over NJIT, and three apiece in the MAAC road wins over Rider and Iona.

Before Fairfield: Nya Jones comes to Fairfield from Oakville, Ontario. Over the past five seasons as a middle blocker with the Halton Hurricanes Volleyball Club, she has helped her team claim two National Championships in 2016 and 2017 as well as a Silver Medal on the national level in 2018. In addition, Jones represented her province as Captain of Team Ontario 16U in 2017. She also earned the Volleyball Catholic Leadership Award and was nominated as an All-Star during her 2018 high school volleyball season at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School. Jones completed the International Baccalaureate program during her high school career and received her DELF Diploma.
