Biography

Career: Megan Theiller graduates Fairfield University as one of seven Stags to record over 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs and one of only four to eclipse the 1,200 mark in both categories. She ended her career ranked sixth all-time in kills (1,288), seventh in points (1,446) and 11th in digs (1,213). Theiller was the first three-year captain in Fairfield history. She also holds the Fairfield record with seven career MAAC Player of the Week honors.
 
2017: 2017-18 MAAC Female Student-Athlete of the Year...Fairfield's NCAA Woman of the Year Nominee...Second Team All-MAAC…Senior CLASS Award Candidate…MAAC All-Academic…Preseason All-MAAC…Two-time MAAC Player of the Week…Fairfield Alumni Association Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year…Megan Theiller returned from injury on Sept. 30 to appear in the Stags’ final 17 matches…Fairfield went 16-1 in those contests with Theiller on the court with the only blemish coming at #2 Texas in the NCAA Championship First Round…Theiller averaged 3.13 kills per set on .236 hitting with 3.65 digs per frame…She reached double-digit kills in 11 matches and double-digit digs in 10 outings, including six double-doubles…Theiller led the team with 15 kills at Texas, and averaged 3.00 kills and 4.00 digs per frame in Fairfield’s pair of straight-set MAAC Championship wins over Marist and Iona.

2016: First Team All-MAAC…MAAC All-Championship Team…ECAC First Team All-Star…First Team CoSIDA Academic All-District…MAAC All-Academic…A four-time MAAC Player of the Week…Ranked second of the Stags and second in the MAAC with 4.19 kills and 4.65 points per set…Her .272 hitting percentage ranked eighth in the MAAC…Theiller’s 1,263 swings (third in single-season history) were nearly 600 more than any other player in the top 10…490 total kills were sixth-most in a single season in Fairfield history…Also ranked second on the team with 2.75 digs per frame and 27 service aces… Contributed 44 blocks and 31 assists…Posted a team-high 15 double-doubles…Her 30 kills in the Nov. 12 win over Quinnipiac marked the most by a Stag in the rally-scoring era and the seventh 30-kill day in the overall Fairfield record book.

2015: MAAC Championship Most Valuable Player…MAAC Player of the Week on Sept. 8…Fairfield Invitational All-Tournament Team…MAAC All-Academic...MAAC Academic Honor Roll...Ranked seventh in the MAAC with 3.11 kills per set, hitting .179 on the outside…Reached double figures in 20 matches, including a career-high 22 finishers in the 3-1 win over Marist in the MAAC Championship Match…Also recorded 2.98 digs per frame, with 22 coming in the five-set win at Marist on Oct. 11…Posted 15 double-doubles, highlighted by a run of six straight from the end of the regular season through the MAAC Championship…Filled out her statline with 40 blocks, 27 service aces and 21 assists.

2014: MAAC Rookie of the Year…MAAC All-Rookie Team…Tied program record as five-time MAAC Rookie of the Week…Two-time ECAC Rookie of the Week…One of two Stags to appear in all 118 sets, starting 25 of 31 matches…Recorded a team-leading 296 kills, ranking third with 3.51 kills per set while hitting .217…Ranked second on the team with 3.18 digs per set…Added 31 blocks, 21 assists and 18 service aces…Posted 10 double-doubles…Had double-digit kills in 17 matches, including a career-best 21 finishers in the win at Saint Peter’s on Oct. 12…That match started a string of six consecutive matches with 10 or more kills, all against MAAC opponents…Notched 10 or more digs on 18 occasions, including five matches with at least 20 digs…Had 20 digs twice in the same day against Bucknell and Columbia on Sept. 6…Capped her season with back-to-back double-doubles, posting 12 kills and 21 digs against Marist in the MAAC Championship Semifinals on Nov. 21 and then registering 10 kills and a career-high 24 digs in the five-set win over Manhattan on Nov. 22.

High School: Earned four varsity letters at John Jay - East Fishkill ... A three-time team captain ... Named League Player of the Year and was an All-Section honoree as a junior and as a senior ... Also named the Section 1 Co-Player of the Year and All-State in 2013 ... A three-time All-County and All-League selection ... Helped team the Patriots to Section and Regional Championships as a senior ... Also letters in softball ... Member of the National Honor Society, the Math Honor Society, and the Italian Honor Society.

Personal: Daughter of Phil and Kathy Theiller...Mother played volleyball at Marist while father played football at RPI...Has a younger sister.
