Biography

2024: Allie Bridgman, who collected CSC Academic All-District honors as a senior, contributed both in the pitching circle and behind the plate, starting eight games as a pitcher and most of the remaining appearances as a catcher. Regardless of her defensive position, Bridgman was still able to hit effectively. She ended the season with a .307 batting average, placing third on the team, and a squad-best 29 RBI in her 46 starts. She also paced the team with four home runs in addition to her four doubles. Bridgman added a team-best 18 walks to her total which enabled her to post a .396 on-base percentage. She earned 27 assists behind the plate, throwing out better than 50 percent of the base stealing attempts.

2023: Bridgman finished the regular season by picking up a pair of wins in the final week, pitching a three-hit shutout against Siena after securing a victory in the team’s final non-conference game against Army West Point. The shutout against Siena was her first on her own this season which helped her to lower her ERA to 2.78 which ranks first on the pitching staff. She earned her only save of the season which came in the season opener against Monmouth, a 6-4 victory in the Stetson tournament on February 17. Bridgman registered her season high of nine strikeouts in a five-inning start against Central Connecticut. She fanned five or more hitters four times (6 vs. DePaul; 6 vs. Sacred Heart; 5 vs. Iona). In the batter’s box, Bridgman batted .197 in a limited role, stroking 15 hits with seven RBI, three doubles and a home run (vs. UConn). In the MAAC tournament, Bridgman started two of the team’s three games and allowed five runs in 12.2 innings (2.76 ERA) with five strikeouts. In the batter’s box, she ended the 2023 campaign with a .195 batting average, posting three doubles and a home run (at UConn) with seven RBI.

2022:  Bridgman spent productive time in the pitching circle before her season was cut short in late March. She last pitched in the Stags’ home opener against Stony Brook on March 26. She earned a 1-3 record this year but the victory was a complete-game shutout of 25th-ranked University of South Florida, allowing five hits with one strikeout. For her effort, she was named the MAAC Pitcher of the Week following her win against the nationally-ranked opponent. She also performed well at the plate, posting a .314 batting average with 11 hits in 35 at-bats with seven RBI. Two of her RBI total came in her final appearance on March 26, going 1 for 3 against Stony Brook.

2021: Bridgman earned a spot on the MAAC All-Rookie team for her successful freshman season. She became a regular in the Stags starting rotation midway through the year, coming out of the bullpen in four of her first five appearances. She ended the regular season with eight starts in her last 11 outings. She tossed five or more innings in seven of her nine starts and posted a 6-1 record when she pitched at least five innings. She earned her only save of the season with a two-inning performance at Iona by not allowing a hit and fanning two hitters. Bridgman struck out a season-high nine hitters against Monmouth but came up on the short end of the decision. Two of her three losses came against the Hawks. The freshman averages 4.84 strikeouts per seven innings.

Before Fairfield: Bridgman helped Hightstown High School to its first New Jersey Group 4 Championship when the team went 26-5 during the 2019 season. As a junior, she posted a .485 batting average with 52 RBI from the batter's box and registered a 21-3 record with 233 strikeouts in the pitching circle. She capped her junior campaign by earning a spot on The Trentonian's All-Area First Team and by securing the newspaper's Area Player of the Year award. She also played softball with the New Jersey Cheetahs before arriving at Fairfield University.
