Biography

2016: Fairfield University William Wallin Memorial Award... IWLCA Division I Community Awareness Award... MAAC All-Academic Team… As a senior made 15 appearances while earning 11 starts… Totaled nine groundballs, five caused turnovers, and one draw control on the season… Had a season high two caused turnovers at UConn on March 19th.

2015: MAAC All-Academic Team… Iapoce was an essential part of the Stags defensive unit. She competed in all but one contest, with 18 starts, including the MAAC Championship match against Canisius. Iapoce picked up 25 ground balls, grabbed four draw controls, and caused five turnovers.

2014: MAAC All-Academic Team… Iapoce had a great sophomore campaign at midfield for the Stags. Throughout Iapoce’s 16 appearances and 13 starts, she picked up 22 ground balls and grabbed three draw controls. Iapoce was a defensive anchor for Fairfield, causing 15 turnovers.

2013: All-MAAC Rookie Team… Iapoce had a stellar rookie season at midfield for Fairfield, starting in all 18 contests. She was a defensive fixture, picking up 22 ground balls, grabbing nine draw controls, and causing seven turnovers.

Before Fairfield: Iapoce comes to Fairfield after lettering three seasons in lacrosse at Guilderland High School, where she served as a team captain her senior year. Iapoce helped lead the squad to three Suburban Council Championships and the 2010 Section II Class A Title as well as 52 victories throughout her career. During her senior campaign, she was named an All-America Honorable Mention and an Academic All-American.  Iapoce was named the 2012 MVP at Guilderland after garnering her second First Team All-Star selection as in many seasons. Iapoce was also a three-time Scholar-Athlete honoree and a member of the National Honor Society.

Personal: Daughter of Karen and Joe Iapoce… Has one older sister, Kaytlin… Named to the University’s Dean’s List… Member of Student-Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC)… Community service includes establishing the first-ever partnership between the Fairfield men’s and women’s lacrosse programs and the Wounded Warrior Project. In the first year of the partnership the Stags raised $14,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project and has continued constant fundraising throughout the year… Major is Accounting… Minor is Studio Art.
