Biography

2016: MAAC All-Academic Team…Made 13 starts during her 18 appearances…Scored the game-winning goal in the 2-0 win against Sacred Heart (8/26)…Assisted on Brenna Brown’s score in the 75th minute at St. John’s, the first visiting goal against the Red Storm during the 2016 season (9/4)…Played in a season-high 104 minutes against Monmouth (10/19).

2015: MAAC All-Academic Team…MAAC Academic Honor Roll...Transitioned into her new role on the defensive unit flawlessly and became one of the team’s most stable and under the radar performer as a defender…Started in 16 of the 18 matches she appeared in…Recorded two assists on the season, both leading to tying goals, vs Wagner (8/23) and at Stony Brook (9/23)…Five of her seven attempts of the season were on goal.

2014: MAAC All-Academic Team…MAAC Academic Honor Roll...Started 14 of her 20 appearances and finished the year with three goals and four assists…Tied a Lessing Field record with three assists in a game against Saint Peter’s (10/8), the most by a Stag in a home game in 13 years (Maureen Miller, 10/3/01)…Also scored a goal against the Peacocks for a career-high five point outing…Came on to the scene in the final 10 games of the season, notching all 10 of her points…Was more aggressive during that stretch with 22 shots during that span (had 12 shots in the previous eight matches)…Scored three goals in a four game span with tallies against Saint Peter’s, at Manhattan (10/15), and the game winner at Marist (10/4)…Tallied an assist at Iona, the 250th win in program history.

2013: MAAC Academic Honor Roll ...  Appeared in 20 games during rookie campaign. Finished the season with four points on a goal and two assists. Made collegiate debut at Army. Picked up first collegiate point with an assist in victory at Marist. Scored first collegiate goal in win at Manhattan. Also assisted on a goal at Canisius.

BEFORE FAIRFIELD: Coufos was a four-year soccer letterwinner at North Andover High School, where she finished with 25 goals and 18 assists in leading the Scarlet Knights to 41 victories. As a senior captain she netted nine goals, with four assists, and earned All-State and Eastern Massachusetts Division All-Star First Team accolades. Coufos was named the Scarlet Knights team MVP in 2011 and 2012 and earned numerous conference and regional accolades over the course of her career. She also lettered in Lacrosse and Basketball, serving as team captain for both of those programs. While in high school she was inducted into the National Honor Society, served on the Student Council and was a member of the Student Ambassador's Club. 

PERSONAL: Daughter of Christine and George Coufos and one of four children. She has an older sister, Krista, a twin sister, Eleni, and a younger brother, Peter. Her uncle, Ari, played baseball at Bentley University from 1984-88. Earned Dean's List honors in every semester...Took part in the Student Phonathon... Member of the Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society...Major is English and minor is math.

O'BRIEN ON COUFOS: "Pam provides a great deal of options for our team. She can play both wide outside midfield positions and oftens times can come into the center of the field to defend against difficult opponents. Her athleticism and speed make her very difficult for her to defend."
