Biography

2018: MAAC All-Academic Team…Appeared in five matches, making one start and recording a 1.66 goals against average with a .667 save percentage…Did not allow a goal in her season debut across 18 minutes against NJIT (8/26)…Picked up the victory in her only start of the season against Saint Peter’s (10/17)…Tallied a season-high four saves in the season finale against Marist (10/24).

2017: MAAC All-Academic Team…Started the first 12 games in net for the Stags picking up four victories…Earned a win in the season opener against Houston Baptist where she recorded three saves while allowing one goal (8/18)…Picked up a shutout against Iona where she tallied eight saves (9/20)…Tied a career-high with nine saves in the win at Binghamton (9/1)… Took part in Fairfield University’s StartUp Showcase, the university’s annual entrepreneurship competition.

2016: MAAC Defensive Player of the Week (10/24)…MAAC All-Academic Team…One of the biggest surprises on the team, DeFeo earned her first career Defensive Player of the Week award after posting back-to-back shutouts against Monmouth (10/19) and Rider (10/22)…Against the Hawks, DeFeo became the first goalkeeper in nearly two months to record a shutout against Monmouth, a team that was one goal shy of the national lead entering play. She recorded a career-high nine saves as the Stags snapped Monmouth’s seven match winning streak, which was the fourth longest in the nation…She followed up that performance with six saves in the shutout home win against Rider…She recorded a 0.54 goals against average in her seven starts as she allowed four goals in 670 minutes while making 26 stops…She made her first career start at Iona after the injury to Jenna Pike and picked up her first collegiate win, a shutout where she tallied three saves…In total she recorded a 0.72 GAA with 29 saves.

2015: Made collegiate debut in the second half against Marist allowing five goals (10/10)…During the spring season, was one of the team’s most surprising player as she showed tremendous growth. At the Red and White Scrimmage where she stopped several shots including a point-blank opportunity against one of the program’s all-time best Ahna Johnson.

BEFORE FAIRFIELD: A captain and the goalie of Exeter High School, DeFeo helped the squad to their seventh title in nine year after setting a program record with 14 shutouts and a 19-0 record...She helped her squad to three State Championships and notched 36 wins during her career... DeFeo fought back from an injury in her senior season before capturing the record setting season including a clean sheet in the final. In her final season, DeFeo was named to the First-Team All-State squad.

PERSONAL: Born to Chantal and Mike DeFeo on February 2, 1997...Has a brother Charlie and a sister Lauren...Brother Charlie plays soccer at Vermont where he was a unanimous selection for the All-Rookie squad. He also scored the game winner against Stony Brook, giving the Catamounts their first Regular Season Championship since 1989...Majoring in Marketing and minoring in Studio Art.
