Burke will enter her fourth season with the Stags after helping Fairfield to 20 wins over the last two full seasons and 12 conference victories. In 2019, The Stags advanced to their first MAAC Championship Match in six years after an 11-win campaign and earning the number two seed in the tournament with a 7-2-1 conference mark.
Â
A big reason for Fairfield’s turnaround has their offense, which have scored 75 goals over the last two full seasons including 44 in 2019, 13 more than they netted in the previous season. The 44 scores was the most by any Stags team in over a decade.
Â
Burke has also helped 12 All-Conference selections for the Stags with two All-Region selections in Gabby Diodati and Stephanie Tsangaris and the MAAC Co-Rookie of the Year in Josie Horosky. Fairfield has also tallied 56 All-Academic selections in her three years.
Burke was named one of 30 selections for the United Soccer Coaches 30 under 30, a program with a year-long education and mentorship opportunity designed to support up-and-coming members of the coaching profession. Burke received an educational scholarship which provides registrations for the United Soccer Coaches Digital Convention and an Advanced Diploma course of the coach's choosing. In addition, members of the 30 Under 30 Program were matched with a mentor dedicated to fostering their growth in the game and expanding their coaching network.
Burke's first taste of coaching at the collegiate level came at New Mexico State as she served as a graduate assistant for two seasons with the Aggies. In her first season in 2017, she helped the Aggies to nine victories, just one shy of the program's single season record set back in 2011. Burke helped coach three All-WAC student-athletes during her time with a pair earning a spot on the conference's First Team while also helping goalkeeper Dmitri Fong to an All-WAC Second Team honor during her first competitive season.
Â
Burke played her collegiate soccer at UMass after appearing in 71 matches with 69 starts during her four seasons. The midfielder scored 11 times in her career while also handing out eight assists to finish her career with 50 points.
