Doug Holub was named the Director of the Fairfield University Men’s and Women’s Golf in September of 2016. Holub joined the Stags with more than a decade of coaching and teaching experience within the golf industry.

In 2024-25, Holub won his first team MAAC Championship as a head coach as the Fairfield men beat the field to hoist the trophy in Lake Buena Vista. That victory included Tadgh Burke's earning the McLeod Trophy as the individual MAAC Champion, along with Holub collecting his fifth combined MAAC Coach of the Year Award.

Burke's individual win marked the third stragiht season in which a Fairfield golfer won the McLeod Trophy. Maria Beltran was the 2024 women's champion and went on to turn in the best individual performance at an NCAA Regional in MAAC Women's Golf history. The prior year, Killian McGinley won the men's McLeod Trophy to reach the NCAA postseason.

Holub's five MAAC Coach of the Year awards include two on the men's side (2021, 2025) and three as the women's coach (2021, 2022, 2023). In 2021, Holub was first coach in MAAC history to win Men's and Women's Coach of the Year in the same season.

Following both the 2018-19 and the 2020-21 campaigns, the women's program earned the WGCA Mark Laesch Award as the most improved team in the nation.

A member of the Professional Golfer’s Association of America since 2007, Holub has been a teaching professional at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Club since 2011.

Holub earned a degree in Sociology from Florida Southern College in 1999. He is also a graduate of Fairfield Prep.
