Biography

2019: Daniel Bjorck spent time in five games in 2019 with four of those appearances coming as a reserve. His first game was in the season opener against Rhode Island which he followed up by coming off the bench against New Hampshire, Siena, and Canisius. He earned a start in the season finale, a 2-1 win over Niagara. While he was on the field, the Stags posted a 3-1-1 record in his five appearances. With the defender on the field, Fairfield allowed one goal or less in four of the five games in which Bjorck was present.

2018: Bjorck was a prominent player off the bench throughout the season, earning 10 appearances during the regular season. Six of his appearances came against MAAC opponents and three of his nods were at home. His only start of the season came in mid-October as part of the team's 1-0 victory over Siena. Bjorck tallied three points during the season, including the team's first goal in its 3-2 win at Rider. He also added an assist in his first game of 2018, setting up the deciding goal in a 2-1 victory at Yale. 

2017: Bjorck worked through some maladies during the season which resulted in only 11 appearances for 2017. He started his first two collegiate games, securing the nods against Oregon State and the University of Portland. He returned to the starting lineup late in the campaign with starts against Manhattan, Monmouth, Niagara, and Rider (regular season). Bjorck was instrumental in the team’s success, serving his teammates as a defender. The Stags registered a shutout in six of his 11 appearances including a run of five straight contests from September 27 to October 14.

2016: Bjoerck made an impact in his first season in a Stags uniform, gaining entry in 13 of the team’s 17 games. The defender started his first 12 games before ending the campaign as a reserve in the season finale against Quinnipiac. He scored his first collegiate goal in his Fairfield debut which resulted in a 1-1 draw with UT-Rio Grande Valley. He took two of his three shots for the season that night, adding one more attempt in the team’s 2-1 win against Northeastern. Bjoerck was one of two Fairfield freshman to score a goal in 2016, joining Didirk Angell for the distinction.

Before Fairfield: Daniel Bjoerck brings a great deal of experience to his teammates, playing for the U-21 team in Sweden that won its league and region during the 2015 season. He was a solid scorer for the last two seasons with the team, registering three goals and eight assists in 2014 and posted an addtional seven goals and 12 assists last season. Off the pitch, he was presented with academic accolades for his performance in the classroom.
