Laura Scinto

Laura Scinto enters her 15th season on the Fairfield sidelines, serving as the Stags' Associate Head Coach.

Known as a great resource to break down film, Scinto heads the team’s scouting reports and game plans for game day. She also organizes each practice and plays a vital role in player development

Scinto and Joe Frager have spent over 20 years on the same sidelines, going from the high school rankings at Seymour High School, to winning a Division II national title at Southern Connecticut State and finally here at Fairfield.

In 2007, Frager and Scinto coached the Owls to a National Title, which highlighted their fourth NCAA Tournament appearance.

At Seymour High School, the two led the Wildcats to back-to-back state titles which was part of a 52-game winning streak at that level.

Scinto got into the coaching ranks after a successful four-year playing career at Bryant, eclipsing 1,000 career points and leading Bulldogs to three NCAA Tournament appearances. Scinto graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration from Bryant and went on to earn A.S. and R.N. degrees from St. Vincent’s College of Nursing.

Scinto played her high school basketball at Shelton High School, where she scored 1,338 points, the second most in the Gaels’ history. As a player, she led the squad to the 1985 State Class LL and Housatonic League Championships. She became the most decorated Shelton athlete and the first to graduate with 12 varsity letters while playing basketball, soccer, and softball.

Scinto currently resides in Shelton, Conn.
