2014: Osofsky spent most her time as a first baseman, starting 22 of her 33 games in 2014. She posted a .200 batting average with eight hits in 40 at-bats. The senior also walked seven times to give her a .319 on-base percentage. Osofsky was one of three Fairfield student-athletes to have more walks than strikeouts, fanning just five times in 49 plate appearances. She scored six runs this season and posted six RBI.
2013: Nikki Osofsky started 38 of her 45 appearances in 2013, spending the season as the team’s first baseman. She posted a base hit in nine games, including a three-hit performance against the University of Hartford. She also established a season-best two RBI in that game, an effort which started a nine-game run during which she hit .417 with five hits in 12 at-bats. She recorded a pair of doubles during the year with an extra base hit against Iona and Niagara. She played nearly flawless defense by making just one error in 254 chances, including 240 putouts and 13 assists.
2012: Osofsky became the team’s top option at first base this year, starting 52 games overall with nearly all of those coming at first base. She also saw a few innings at second base. Her 290 putouts represent a team high, cleanly fielding 314 of 321 chances in 57 outings. At the plate, Osofsky tallied one extra base hit, a double against the University of Connecticut. She had three multiple-hit games with two hits in both ends of the Stony Brook doubleheader and in the nightcap against Rhode Island. On the base paths, Osofsky scored five runs and stole two bases.
2011: Osofsky gained seven starts during the year – six as a second baseman and one as a designated player. She batted .111 as a starter with 2 hits in 18 at-bats and batted .097 for the season. She posted five walks which raised her on-base percentage to .222. One of her hits was a double, stroking a two-base hit against Hartford. She also came off the bench to play second base in seven games, mainly as a defensive replacement. She is one of the team’s top defensive players, making just one error in 48 chances (.979 fielding percentage).
Before Fairfield: Osofsky graduated from Immaculate Heart Academy where she competed as a member of the softball team. She finished her four seasons with a .325 batting average as well as several team and individual awards. Immaculate Heart won the League championship in her freshman season, before taking the Sectional championship one year later. She was also a member of the state championship team in 2009. She was named to the All-League third team as a senior. She lists psychology as her major.
