2016: Gardon collected three starts during the 2016 campaign, getting the nod against Bethune-Cookman, Yale, and Sacred Heart. Her longest outing of the three starts came against Yale in which she allowed one earned run in four innings with two strikeouts and no walks. She did not allow a run in two innings against Sacred Heart, allowing two hits, one walk and fanning two batters. She pitched one game against MAAC opponents, a one-plus inning against Rider in which she allowed four earned runs. Gardon did not allow a run in five outings this year including her last two of the regular season (Wagner and Sacred Heart). She averaged just over five strikeouts per seven innings pitched this year, registering two strikeouts in four different games. Gardon pitched two or less innings in nine of her 11 appearances – 4.0 IP vs. Yale and 2.2 IP vs. Sacred Heart.
2015: Nicole Gardon served primarily as a reliever this season with all 31 appearances coming out of the bullpen. She picked up her first career save in the regular-season finale when she pitched the final inning of the opener against Manhattan, allowing two hits to keep Fairfield in front. Gardon pitched a season-high 4.1 innings against Quinnipiac, not allowing any runs while yielding just two hits. She had one appearance this year without allowing a hit, going 2.2 innings in the nightcap against Canisius She started the year with an 0-3 mark won her final three decisions – Saint Peter’s, Quinnipiac, and Iona. Gardon appeared in one of the Stags’ NCAA tournament games, facing USC-Upstate.
2014: Nicole Gardon pitched in seven games during 2014 with six of those appearances coming as a reliever. The freshman’s lone start was a 2-1 victory against Rhode Island, pitching the first six-plus innings before yielding to Rae Ball for the final two outs. She allowed three runs this season in 18.1 innings, but only one of those runs was earned (at UConn). She did not yield an earned run and just one walk over her last 15 innings pitched. She struck out three hitters in her 18-plus innings, one against Stony Brook in her collegiate debut, one versus Rhode Island, and one versus Siena in the MAAC tournament.
Before Fairfield: Gardon posted 30 wins in 40 apperances over her final two years at Holy Family High School. She tossed more than 100 innings in each of her last two years at Holy Family, including 122 innings as a junior. She earned All-Region honors after posting a 13-2 record with a 1.89 ERA and 118 strikeouts in her junior campaign. She will look to make an impact with the Stags pitching rotation this year, having the experience to contribute both as a starter and a reliever.
