2016: Nicole Capra produced the most runs of her career in 2016 with 16 RBI and added nine extra base hits to her totals. The two home runs were the most she recorded during a regular season as two of her three homers in 2015 came in the MAAC tournament. Her 28 hits during the year represented a personal-best, eclipsing her 2015 total of 26. The senior has a hit in 21 of her 50 appearances and an RBI in 14 games this season. She batted .250 during the team’s spring training trips (9 of 36) before beginning play in the Northeast.
2015: Nicole Capra earned her place in Stags softball history when she stroked a base hit against Alabama, the first hit in an NCAA tournament game by any Stag softball player. She appeared in all but one game during the season, sitting out the first game against Stony Brook on April 15. She started all 48 of her appearances at third base. Capra picked up a hit in 22 games which included a three-hit game against Monmouth in the MAAC championship game Her best offensive day came against Siena when she stroked three hits in eight at-bats with a double and an RBI. She led the team in base on balls with 20 walks in 48 appearances.. She picked up a walk in six of the team’s last 10 games.
2014: Nicole Capra posted a .211batting average in her 42 starts. Capra posted a hit in 19 of those appearances, including multi-hit efforts against Niagara, Rider, Marist, and Siena. She posted a seven-game hitting streak which began on April 10 against UConn and ended in the first game of a doubleheader against Rhode Island on April 17. She posted a .429 batting average during that streak (9 hits, 21 at-bats) with six RBI. She was fourth on the team with 13 walks which raised her on-base percentage to .312. Defensively, Capra led the team with 65 assists during the regular season.
2013: Capra established herself as the team’s starting third baseman early in the season and spent of the year at that position. She played in 43 games with 36 starts and finished the season with a .212 batting average. She reached base 10 straight times over a three-game run between April 7-10. The run began with three hits in as many at-bats against Marist, which she followed up with another three-for-three game against Sacred Heart. The run ended when she walked four times against Quinnipiac University. Capra’s two extra base hits were doubles, the first coming against San Jose State and the second coming two games later against UConn. Capra played well defensively with 70 assists and 36 putouts in her 43 appearances.
