She earned the nod in 35 of the team’s 53 games, including the last 16 games of the season. Carta drove home eight base runners this season, with the last three coming against Marist (two in regular season and one in MAAC tournament). The infielder picked up a pair of hits in two games during the season, hitting the mark against Iona and Niagara. Her first multiple-hit outing came against Pittsburgh. In that game, Carta recorded 10 putouts as an infielder, representing a bulk of her 58 putouts during the season. She tallied 10 walks during the season, which elevated her on-base percentage to .354. Carta accumulated three doubles, one coming against Yale, Marist, and Siena. She was hit by a pitch five times, which led the team and accounted for nearly a third of the team’s 18 hit by pitches. All but one of her hits came as a starter, the exceptions coming when she came off the bench to record a hit against Canisius on May 1. She batted .261 as a starter (18 for 69).
