Biography

2021: Lacey Olaff earned the MAAC Player of the Week after she stroked five hits in seven at-bats with five RBI in a sweep of Quinnipiac University during the final week of the regular season. The first baseman picked up two more RBI in the MAAC quarterfinal series with Siena, which gave her 19 RBI in 2021, which was one off the team lead. She picked up one RBI in 11 games with six of those contests producing two or more RBI. She finished with a .309 batting average Her on-base percentage stood at .385 when you added in her 12 walks and one hit-by-pitch. She put together a couple of five-game hitting streaks during the year including one that covered the final five regular-season games (8 for 13 - .615 batting average) She also had a five-gamer from March 21-25 during which she recorded seven hits in 14 at-bats with one RBI.

2020: Olaff emerged as the team’s starting first baseman with 14 starts during the season. She was also one of the most productive hitters for the Stags in 2020, recording 13 hits in 14 games which translated into a .296 batting average. She posted two three-hit games with the first resulting in two runs driven in against Penn. Olaff followed up with three hits, three runs scored, and two more RBI against Bethune-Cookman. Both of her doubles for the season came against Bethune-Cookman. Olaff secured a three-game hitting streak at the start of the year but surpassed that with a four-gamer that started on February 29 against Elon and went through a 1 for 3 performance against Northern Kentucky on March 7. She batted .461 during the run with six hits in 13 at-bats including two doubles.

2019: Olaff returned to the pitching circle in 2019 for the first time since her high school years, leading the team with two saves and sporting a 1-1 record with a team-best 2.06 ERA. She almost exclusively as a reliever, gaining one start against Sacred Heart among her 17 appearances. The pitcher earned her first collegiate win at Sacred Heart by tossing 2.1 innings and allowing no runs on two hits for the road game. Her first save of the year came in her collegiate debut, a 3-0 win over Yale as she pitched two innings in the combined shutout. Her second save was against Rhode Island, securing the final out of the victory. Olaff also spent time at first base and as a designated player, batting .226 with one double and 12 RBI. The junior batted .314 (11 for 35) over the last 13 regular-season games, including a season-best six-game hitting streak (.500 - 8 for 16) from April 14-23. Olaff owned a 0-0 record and a 2.83 ERA in MAAC play with a .243 batting average (9 for 37) and four RBI against MAAC opponents. 

2018: Olaff served the team primarily as a designated hitter this season but also earned time at first base. When she started in the field, the New Jersey native batted .280 with seven hits in 25 at-bats. However, all five of her extra base hits came when she was the team’s designated hitter, includng two in MAAC tournament play. She posted nine RBI with six coming in her first 20 games of the season. Olaff put together a season-best four-game hitting streak from March 17 to March 27, picking a hit against Loyola-Marymount, North Dakota State Fairleigh Dickinson and two hits at Seton Hall. She batted .384 during that run (5 of 13) with three RBI.  She batted .286 in the MAAC tournament with two hits in seven at-bats over three appearances.

2017: Olaff leads all Fairfield freshmen with five extra base hits, garnering four doubles and a home run in her 41 games played. She started her career with a pair of hits and two RBI against La Salle, her first career start after coming off the bench in her first two appearances. In her first six games with the Stags, Olaff batted .562 (9 for 16) with three multiple hit games and nine RBI. Her best game during that run was a four-hit, three-RBI game against Columbia in which she hit a pair of doubles. Olaff has a hit in 14 different games enroute to 21 hits. The infielder also added 13 walks to her regular-season totals which elevated her on-base percentage to .400, which places second on the team. She finished the season as a pinch hitter, collecting one at-bat against LSU in the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional.

Before Fairfield: Olaff enjoyed a great deal of success as a student-athlete at Florence Township Memorial High School. She ended her scholastic career with a .470 batting average that included a .450 hitting percentage as a senior. She posted 97 career RBI off a career 121 hits, highlighted by five home runs and 30 RBI in her final campaign with the program. She earned a spot in the school's 100-hit club by the end of her career. Olaff earned All-County first team honors and was a three-time All-Area player. Florence Township Memorial captured the Central Jersey championship, two Divisional titles, and won the Carpenter Cup championship during her stay. Off the softball diamond, Olaff was President of the Student Council as a senior and was a member of the National Honor Society, which she served as a treasurer in her senior year.
