2018: Kate Robinson picked up MAAC All-Tournament honors after hitting a home run and posting a .273 batting in four tournament games. She served as the team’s starting catcher since the team returned from their Southern and West Coast trips, getting the nod in 20 of the team’s 32 games in the Northeast. She is hitting .278 over those 28 games (20 for 72) with seven doubles, two home run, and 17 RBI. Robinson had a five-game hitting streak from April 26 to May 5 before it ended in the opener against Canisius in the regular-season finale. She picked up a hit in the night cap against the Golden Griffs, giving her eight hits in her final 22 at-bats of the regular season (.363 batting average). Robinson collected a .195 batting average against MAAC opponents this year with four doubles, a home run, and eight RBI. She has also played flawlessly behind the plate, not making an error in any of the team’s 32 games up north (112 PO, 3 A).
2017: Kate Robinson played in 41 games as a third baseman, catcher, and designated player during the regular season. Of those 41 games, 12 of her appearances came against MAAC opponents. She batted .250 against MAAC opponents (4 for 16) and .250 against the MAAC tournament field (1 for 4). Her best day at the plate in 2017 came in the Rider doubleheader when she recorded a pair of hits in four at-bats with three RBI and a double. Robinson also picked up a double against Bethune-Cookman, accounting for her two extra base hits on the season. She was also adept at getting on base via the walk, picking up nine base on balls which translated into a .295 on-base percentage. She made an appearance in both games of the 2017 NCAA Baton Rouge Regional, grounding out in her only plate appearance which came against LSU. She was a defensive replacement at third base in the McNeese game.
2016: Robinson appeared in all 50 games during the season, one of six Stags to earn the distinction. She was the most versatile Stag this year, spending time as a first base, second base, outfield, designated hitter, and catcher. She ended the year with 26 RBI, third on the team. She tied for second on the team with four home runs, three of which came against non-conference opponents (Bethune-Cookman, Wagner, and Holy Cross). Her lone MAAC home run was against Saint Peter’s. Robinson collected a hit in 25 of her 47 appearances, six of which were multi-hit contests. She registered three hits against Northern Kentucky and Holy Cross. The sophomore started the season strongly by securing a hit in eight of the first nine regular season games. She batted .339 during those opening nine contest (9 of 27) with six RBI and a double. Robinson leads the team with 25 walks, putting her on base 58 times (33 hits) during the regular season.
2015: Robinson was a member of the 2014 MAAC All-Rookie team. She ranked as the team’s top hitting freshman all season long, contributing as a designated player, a catcher, and a third baseman. The rookie placed third on the team with 29 RBI and owned a .504 slugging percentage with a .397 on-base percentage. She performed exceptionally well in MAAC play with all 12 of her extra base hits (seven doubles, five home runs) coming against conference foes. Robinson recorded 10 hits in 14 at-bata during the MAAC tournament with two doubles and two RBI. She led the team with 20 RBI against MAAC teams. Robinson drove home at least one run in 15 of her 47 appearances which included nine multiple-RBI contests. She posted a personal-best four RBI in the opener against Saint Peter’s and posted three RBI in a game versus St. Joseph’s (Pa.), Siena, and Marist. The Marist game featured Robinson’s three-run first-inning homer in the team’s 4-3 win. She posted a pinch-hit solo home run against Canisius.
Before Fairfield: Robinson enjoyed a great deal of success at Upper Darby High School. She was a regular in the lineup for the softball team, appearing in 64 games over four seasons. She batted .400 or higher in three of her four campaigns including a personal-best .468 as a senior. She posted 19 doubles, nine triples, and four home runs over her career, resulting in 55 RBI in 64 games. She averaged better than a hit per game with 82. Robinson was also one of the more difficult players to strike out, fanning just 12 times in 232 plate appearances. Robinson was rewarded for her play as a member of the All-Conference first team. She played club softball with the Orange Crush for several seasons. She lists psychology as her major.
